Klépierre reaffirms its commitment to energy efficiency by becoming an Ecowatt partner

Led by France’s electricity transmission system operator, RTE, and green transition agency, ADEME, Ecowatt provides users with real-time information on power consumption in France and advises them on how they can save energy. Klépierre will step up efforts to reduce its assets’ electricity consumption and has committed to working with its partners, employees and wider ecosystem to help mitigate the risk of power shortages in France.

Klépierre has a strong track record in this area, having already reduced its energy consumption by 40% in less than ten years. The Group has also been recognized for the quality of its CSR policy, with GRESB recently naming Klépierre sector leader for the third year running.

Measures adopted by Klépierre include:

  • Heating shopping malls’ common areas to 17°C and staff work areas to 19°C – and only between the hours of 10am and 6pm;

  • Lowering the light intensity of illuminated signs, common areas and parking lots, with reductions of over 50% in mall interior walkways, for example.
